Congratulations to all 20 Chess A2Z players in four teams (Avalanche, Lightning, Storm, and Thunder) at the 2026 OSCF Coed Team Championship!
Chess A2Z Thunder (Axl Arun, Anthony Cheng, Ian Zhang, Saanvi Shah, and Jocelyn Cattone ) earned 3rd Place in the Mixed Open Section. Entering the event as the #5 seed in a very strong field, the team exceeded expectations and played outstanding chess throughout the tournament.
Chess A2Z Avalanche (Tim Hu, Vincent Xie, Tristan Hao, Divi Chilakamarri and Reva Rajesh ) earned 2nd Place in the Mixed Reserve Section. Seeded #4 in the pregame ranking, Avalanche had a terrific performance. An error in the initial standings has since been corrected, and the team officially finished in 2nd Place.
Special shout-out to Evangeline Yeh for earning a Top Board Award! Your strong performance helped your team every round. Congratulations on an outstanding tournament!
While trophies are exciting, what made us most proud was the effort, resilience, and teamwork displayed by all of our players. Team events are special because every game matters and every teammate matters. We saw players supporting one another and fighting hard in difficult positions with great sportsmanship.
